Linda touched many hearts with her warm and vibrant character. She had a real zest for life. Linda was not only a loving wife, mother and Gran, she was a good friend to many and became a real social butterfly over the years. The staff of The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice became part of our family for the weeks Linda was there. The Macdonald family are eternally grateful for the care and support provided to us which allowed the family to spend some quality time with Linda towards the end of her life. We had many special moments which will stay with us forever. The staff are an extraordinary team of people. Their natural cheer brought great comfort to us at a very sad time. Freedom Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free I’m following paths chosen for me I offered my hand, I heard a call Then turned and bid farewell to all I couldn’t stay another day To laugh, to love to sing, to play Tasks left undone must stay that way But I found my peace at close of day And if my parting leaves a void Then fill it with remembered joy A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss Ah yes these things I too will miss But don’t be burdened deep with sorrow I wish you sunshine for tomorrow My life’s been full, I’ve savoured much Good friends, good times and a loved one’s touch Perhaps my time seemed all too brief Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief Lift up your heart and share with me I had to leave but now I’m free
